Our Staff


	Dr. Fred Renfro Dr. Renfro’s love for Wise County, Texas began when his family moved to Decatur in 1966 and he completed junior and high school. Interest in science and people led him to a career in dentistry. Upon graduation from the University of Texas at Austin, and then Baylor College of Dentistry in 1980, he began his General Dentistry career in Decatur, Texas. A continuing desire to serve his patients with the best possible techniques, equipment and supplies has led him to attend various seminars and join the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Pankey Institute for advanced dental education and the Ft. Worth District Dental Society. He was awarded a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in recognition of completion of approved continuing education requirements in all areas of dentistry. He and his wife Cheryl enjoy spending time with their four children and keeping involved in Wise County. His additional passions are golf and riding his Harley.
	Dr. Gayla Ballou Dr. Ballou is a 2004 graduate of the University of Oklahoma School of Dentistry, a native of Mooreland, Oklahoma. Decatur was the perfect blend of a growing community with small town roots that she, husband Dallas and young daughter, relocated to in 2006. Dr. Ballou is the recipient of multiple honors and awards for both academic and clinical excellence. Her year externship in Children's Hospital General Dentistry Residency Program provided her with advanced training in pediatrics, an area of dentistry that has captured her heart.
	Julie Roe - RDA, Customer Service Specialist Julie comes to us with several years experience from a premier local bank. Her excellent customer service skills help our patients achieve maximum results with their dental treatment.
	Leticia Lara - RDA, Clinical Coordinator Letty joined our dental team in 1997. Her stability and dedication to patient satisfaction have provided our patients the excellent service they deserve.
	Romy Martinez - RDA, Scheduling Coordinator Romy joined the team in 2001 and immediately put her organizational and customer service skills to work. She's the friendly voice that keeps the schedule and the day flowing.
	Brandy Hudson - RDA, CDT, Lab Manager Brandy's past experience as a dental assistant and office manager helped her step right in to manage our in-house lab. She assists Dr. Renfro and Dr. Ballou in the construction and repair of dentures, bite splints and acrylic and metal partials.
	Maribel Pannell - RDA, Clinical Assistant Since 2001 Maribel has been providing clinical assistance and quality care to the patients of Excellent Dental PC. Her experience and attention to customer service make her a valuable asset to the team.
	Iva Walterscheid - RDH, Registered Dental Hygienist Friendly, personable and totally committed to assisting patients achieve optimum oral health best describes Iva. She is passionate about her job and is eager to explain the latest techniques.
	Cheryl Renfro - Business Administrator Since 1992 Cheryl has applied her banking operations background to managing the personnel, marketing and operations of Excellent Dental PC.
